Glenrose Park

Glenrose Park is a 20-acre park area located on Glendale Blvd., 1/4 mile east of Roosevelt Road (just east or "behind" Thomas Jefferson School complex).

The Glenrose North Shelter (shown below left) will accommodate approximately 60 persons, and has handicap accessible restrooms.Your reservation fee of $70 (or $60 resident discount fee) can be paid by cash, check or credit card and made in person or by phone at the Park Administrative Office. Shelter fees are non-refundable and are due in full when the reservation is made.

The Glenrose South Shelter (shown above right) will accommodate approximately 50 persons and is located in the southwest corner of the park, surrounded by large oaks. Restroom facilities are in the shelter. An asphalt pathway makes it’s way from the school through the park to the parking area off McCord Road. Some play equipment is near this shelter. Your reservation fee of $70 (or $60 resident discount fee) can be paid by cash, check or credit card and made in person or by phone at the Park Administrative Office. Shelter fees are non-refundable and are due in full when the reservation is made. Click here to register...

Both shelters are located near the City’s only "playscape", Valplayso. The playscape was built amid much fanfare in 1994 by community volunteers and was designed, in part, by area elementary school children. There is a hand tile plaza and engraved "stepping stones" making this unique playground an outdoor wonder for all ages.

Your shelter reservation ensures a clean, safe facility protected from extreme heat and rain. Ten picnic tables are provided for your private use; additional picnic tables can be reserved (4 for $40 + tax). All shelters are equipped with 20 amp electrical service. A "half barrel" grill can be rented for $15 plus tax. Recycle bags are provided as well as garbage receptacles. Volleyball standards are available at each park for use by all park visitors. Moonwalks, dunktanks, tents, canopies and amplified music are prohibited.
